CAUTION: Updating the firmware incorrectly or using an update on the wrong DVR can permanently damage the chipset on the DVR and make it unusable. Please verify that this update is written for your model and follow the instructions. Also, updates are written to either resolve performance issues or to add features to the DVR. Since any update could fail and cause problems, if you are not experiencing the issue the update was written to resolve, or you do not need the feature that is added by the update, please do not run the update.
Firmware upgrade for model QSDR74RTS and QSDR74RTB to version 100802 (2010-08-02). This Firmware has the following fixes and functions:
1. Adds Motion sensitivity to 8 levels
2. Adds VGA resolution upto 1920x1200 (Note: do not use this resolution if your monitor does not support 720i or 1080i)
3. Add an option to Reboot DVR remotely.
4. Add an option to do Load Default setup remotely.
5. Capable of setting up Email and DDNS remotely.
6. Supports Blackberry mobile phone models: Curve 8900, Bold 9000 and 9700, Pearl 9100 and 9105, Tour 9630, Tour2 9650 and Onyx 9020
7. Supports Android Mobile phones.
8. Supports iPhone, Windows Mobile 6.5 and Symbian.Instructions:Go to DVR-MENU-SYSTEM-INFO and note the Device Type. If the Device Type is axxxx-30S, then on the next page download “xxxx-30S.zip”. Then unzip it, you will get a folder called “xxx-30S”. Inside this folder there is a file called “dvrupgrade.zip”. Unzip this file and you will get a folder called “DVRUPGRADE”. Copy this folder to a USB Flash. Plug this USB flash to the USB port on the back of DVR (the bottom port). Go to Menu - System - Maintain - System Update. It will say "upgrading..." Do not do anything while it is upgrading. It will restart the DVR and then stay at the opening screen for a minute or so. Once the screen comes back up, go back to Menu – System – Maintain, and Click on Load Default setup. Once finished, click on Reboot to reboot DVR. Now this DVR will have a Firmware version of 100802. If the Device Type is xxxx-40S, then on the next page download “axxxx-40S.zip”. Then unzip it, you will get a folder called “xxx-40S”. Inside this folder there is a file called “dvrupgrade.zip”. Unzip this file and you will get a folder called “DVRUPGRADE”. Copy this folder to a USB Flash. Plug this USB flash to the USB port on the back of DVR (the bottom port). Go to Menu - System - Maintain - System Update. It will say "upgrading..." Do not do anything while it is upgrading. It will restart the DVR and then stay at the opening screen for a minute or so. After updating the firmware on the DVR to this version you will need to use a different program to access your DVR from your mobile phone.
