All Q-See DVRs use H.264 compression rather than MJPEG or MPEG4. H.264 compression is better because: 1. H.624 creates the smallest file size so more files can be stored on the hard drive 2. H.624 allows the fastest quality internet streaming when using the remote monitoring feature 3. H.624 allows the fastest file transfer time for backing up or sending files 4. H.624 ensures the smoothest video quality for saved files
