QUESTIONS |

What is the different between CCD and CMOS camera? |
| |
- CCD sensors, create high-quality, low-noise images. CMOS
sensors, traditionally, are more susceptible to noise.
- Because each pixel on a CMOS sensor has several
transistors located next to it, the light sensitivity of a
CMOS chip tends to be lower. Many of the photons hitting the
chip hit the transistors instead of the photodiode.
- CMOS traditionally consumes little power. Implementing a
sensor in CMOS yields a low-power sensor.
- CCDs use a process that consumes lots of power. CCDs
consume as much as 100 times more power than an equivalent
CMOS sensor.
- CMOS chips can be fabricated on just about any standard
silicon production line, so they tend to be extremely
inexpensive compared to CCD sensors.
- CCD sensors have been mass produced for a longer period
of time, so they are more mature. They tend to have higher
quality and more pixels

Why
am I getting a white screen? |
| |
a.
Be sure that you have sufficient light in the area you are using the
camera.
b. b. Make sure you have taken off the lens cap, if one has been provided
with your particular camera. |
| |
|
| * |
I
have checked all connections... so why am I getting a white screen
when I use my indoor/outdoor camera? |
| |
a.
This is a common situation known as Whitewash or Washout which is
when a strong (sun light or other light source) light shines directly
enters the lens and sensor and overpowers the video signal and Electronic
Iris. This does not harm the camera and the picture will return to
normal upon the light source moving from that position. Remember;
do not point your camera directly into any light visible source. |
| |
|
| * |
Why
does my camera come without instructions? |
| |
a.
The instructions are straightforward and either printed on the box
or on the specification sheets, which are supplied.
b. DPS, Inc only prints instruction manuals for equipment that has
multifunction capabilities and requires an instruction booklet. Please
visit our website www.q-see.com & look for your Model number and
print the manual or Date sheet. |

To
what do I hook up my AC adapter to? |
| |
a.
The end of the six foot cable has a 2.1 mm DC Power Jack that plugs
into the mating DC Power Plug on your Video equipment. The Power Adaptor
plugs into you 110 VAC, 60Hz Power Source. Do not plug into your wall
outlet until you have totally wired your system and double-checked
for shorts. |
| |
|
| * |
And
what is the RED jack on my cable for? |
| |
The
RED Jack is for the input from your power source. It is a 2.1 mm DC
Power Plug with the center pin is 12V DC Positive. |

What
are LEDS and are they truly invisible? |
| |
LEDS
are Light Emitting Diodes and only those that operate in the Infrared
or higher frequencies will be invisible to most Animals and all Human
Beings. |

FAQ
FOR VIDEO SENDER |
| * |
What is the purpose of a Video Sender? |
| |
A
video sender allows you to transmit audio and video devices, such
as satellite, video camera, DVD, VCR etc. from one room to another
via wireless transmission. The Q-See video sender provides 300 ft
(100 meters) wireless transmission (open space). |
| |
|
| * |
What does open space mean? |
| |
The
term open space means that there are no obstructions,
which may interfere with the transmission of the audio/video signal.
Obstructions include such items as walls, building and certain electronic
devices. |
| |
|
| * |
I have no picture when I connect my Video Sender device. |
| |
There
are a number of possible reasons for this problem:
Ensure the transmitter is connected to the video source (e.g.
television, DVD, camera) and the receiver is connected to the receiving
device (eg. television). Ensure the cables are connected properly
(refer to the owners manual for more details)
Ensure the transmitter and receiver are turned ON
and set to the same channel.
Ensure the television is set to CH 3 or CH 4 when using the
coaxial connection.
Ensure the television is set A/V mode when using RCA connection
(Refer to your televisions owners manual to set the television to
A/V (Aux) mode. |
| |
|
| * |
I seem to be getting interference with my system. |
| |
Adjust
the antenna at the receiver side until the picture becomes clear.
You may also want to change the channel setting for both the transmitter
and receiver. |

FAQ
FOR WIRELESS CAMERA SYSTEM |
| * |
What is the maximum transmission range between the camera and monitor? |
| |
The
maximum transmission range between the camera and monitor is approximately
300 ft open space. Open space means that there are no structures between
the camera and monitor which may hinder the transmission range. |
| |
|
| * |
What is the transmission range through walls? |
| |
As
with any wireless products, the range of the camera system is reduced
when transmitting through walls. Typically, the transmission range
is about 100 ft in a standard house. |
| |
|
| * |
Can I move the monitor to another location in my house/office? |
| |
Your
system provides wireless operation, which means that you can move
the monitor or camera from room to room. Simply ensure that the monitor
and camera antennas are pointing towards each other to ensure maximum
quality reception. |
| |
|
| * |
What is the difference between 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz camera systems? |
| |
The
main difference between 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz camera systems is the
reception quality. Wireless 900 MHz cameras use older wireless technology,
which results in a shorter transmission range. The 900 MHz bandwidth
is also very 'busy', as most cordless telephones work on this bandwidth.
This results in more interference which results in poor reception
quality. 2.4 GHz camera system uses the latest 2.4 GHz wireless technology.
This results in better reception quality and better transmission range. |
| |
|
| * |
Can I place the camera system outdoors? |
| |
This
camera system is designed for internal use only. You therefore cannot
place this camera outdoors. |
| |
|
| * |
How many cameras can I connect to the camera system? |
| |
You
can connect from 1 to 4 cameras to your camera system depending on
the model you purchase. The receiver has a push button which allows
you to select and view all camera locations. |
| |
|
| * |
Can I connect my camera system to a TV set? |
| |
Yes,
you can. A circuit is built in which allows you see the picture of
the camera either on CH3 or CH4. |
| |
|
| * |
Sometimes I am experience slight interference when I operate my microwave
oven? |
| |
Yes,
you will experience a slight interference when you operate your microwave
oven. Do not worry, this is normal since both your camera system and
the microwave oven are in the same frequency spectrum. It will not
damage your camera system. |
| |
|
| * |
I am not getting a clear reception. |
| |
Make
sure the distance between the receiver and the camera does not exceed
the limit which is specified in the manual. Otherwise, adjust the
antennas of both the receiver and the camera until you get a clear
reception. |

Yes,
you can. You need a normal VCR if it is a manual recording. However,if
you need to to record for a long time while you are away from home
or office, you will need a special VCR such as Time lapse VCR or Event
recorder. |
| |
|
| * |
Even though I had connected my monitor to the VCR , I do not get any
picture on the tape? |
| |
First
of all, make sure the connection is correct. If so, make sure the
VCRs channel selection is not between CH1 and CH181. It should always
be on Video mode, for example AUX, LINE or VIDEO. Please
see the attached connection diagram. |
