Installation
-
Connect the CCTV
camera (compatible with RCA or BNC connection) to the Video In on
the DVR
-
Connect the Video
out from DVR to your TV in using RCA cable
-
Make sure the HDD is
in the bay and locked.
-
Plug the AC Adapter
to DVR
-
You will see quad
screen on the TV monitor and it is initializing the system.
-
You may push DISPLAY
to see all the information about the DVR.

First thing to do is
accessing the MENU, default password is 0000. From MENU set the
correct DATE and TIME.

FAQ
Q: How
to record cameras
A:
There are 3 modes for recording.
1. Manual recording:
Push
the RECORD button. It will record all the time until you stop it by
pushing the RECORD button again.
2. Alarm / Motion
Detection Recording:
This will record only when there is a Motion in front of the camera. To
set up this mode:
Go to MENU and ALARM
SET. And turn on ALARM enable and MOTION enable. Exit the Menu and go to
SCHEDULE SET and change it to “A “above the time you want to record.
Exit this Menu and go back to main screen. Then push SCHEDULE button.
You will see “S” on the top. When there is a motion detected, you will
see “M” and the RED dot come up. It means it is recording now. After
there is no more Motion, it will continue recording at least another
minute and then it stop until another motion detected.
3. Time Schedule
Recording.
To setup this mode:
From MENU, go to
SCHEDULE SET and change to “T” above the time you want to record. Exit
the menu and go back to main screen and push SCHEDULE. It will start
recording when it reaches the Set
Time.

Q: How
to Playback the images that has been recorded?
A:
These are the way to playback:
1.
Push the
PLAY button. This will play the images recorded from the last time it
was played.
2.
Push the
SEARCH button. You can search by the certain Time & Date, or by the
EVENTS ( Motion detections, Alarm), or by the Start and End time.
NOTE: Recording will not
be interrupted while you are in Playback mode.
Q: How
can I monitor the camera on a Remote Computer?
A:
Plug the RJ45 cable from the back of DVR to the Switch / Hub or Router.
By Default the network
setting on this DVR are as follow:
IP ADDRESS:
192.168.1.167
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
You don’t have to change
this setting unless your Local Area Network is using different Subnet.
Go to Network Setup in
the MENU and go to N/W ENABLE and TURN ON all the Channels. By turn this
ON, you are allowing to access this DVR from networking / internet.
Then refer to the manual
of your Router, go to the Router Setup and you need to do PORT
FORWARDING which is port 5000-5002 to the IP: 192.168.1.167.

On the PC Client,
install the CD comes with this DVR. Simply run the SETUP.EXE. it will
install program called NET VIEWER. Once installed, run this program ,
by default ID is “admin” and password is “admin”.
Click on SETUP and enter
the IP address of your Internet (this is the IP of the internet where
the DVR located). You can check your IP by going to
www.myipaddress.com . Port is 5000. OK and OK again. You are now
connecting to the DVR unit.
If your IP is a Dynamic
IP which can be changed time to time, either you contact your ISP to get
a Static IP or you can get a Domain Name free from
www.no-ip.com . Register with them
and get a domain name and an updater software (read their support page)
With this domain name, you dont have to worry about IP changed. So once
you get the domain name, in NETVIEWER setup program, just insert the
domain name instead of IP address. it is like http://myname.no-ip.com

Q.
What kind of camera should I buy for this DVR?
A.
Any BNC or RCA interface indoor/outdoor/infrared camera will work with
the DVR. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a color or black/white camera.
However, web cameras that require a USB interface are not compatible
with the DVR.

What kind of alarm device should I buy for DVR?
A.
Most sound alarms are compatible with our DVR.

I can’t turn on DVR.
A.
Make sure that the power cord
is plugged in correctly and the red power light on DVR front panel is
on.

I see nothing but a blue
screen after I turn on DVR.
A.
Check the camera input and
video output connection on DVR back panel. If you can’t find problem
with these connections, check whether the camera power cable is firmly
connected. Make sure the system format for NTSC and PAL is right.

I see a fatal error
message on the screen or it says HDD not detected.
A.
If you see the error messages
such as “System fatal error is occurred”,or it says HDD not detected.
Turn off the DVR, pull out the
HDD, and then push it back, make sure you feel it CLICK. then turn it
on.

Can I prevent other
people from stopping the recording while I am gone?
A.
If the DVR is in schedule or
recording mode, no one can change the set unless he has the right
password.

How can I erase all
data on the hard disk drive?
A.
Select “HDD Format Set” option
on the menu.
Q.
I forgot my
password. What should I do?
A.
Press the “1234” when entering
password and it will reset DVR’s password to factory default. Then the
password will reset to factory default (0000).

Can my desktop PC
read the video data on hard disk drive in DVR if I connect the DVR's HDD
to a PC?
A.
Yes, you can use NETVIEWER
program to read all video data on hard disk. First connect the DVR's HDD
to a PC. You can install as a SLAVE to your master HDD in the computer
or you can put DVR'S HDD into a USB or FIREWIRE HDD enclosure. Then open
up NETVIEWER and click HDD SCAN. Select the correct HDD from drop down
menu. Put the right size for the HDD and click the PLAY button. It will
read the sectors and will playback the video files.

What happens if I
install my PC hard disk drive into the DVR?
A.
You can use a PC hard disk
drive in the DVR. However, once it runs in DVR, it will delete any PC
operation system and files on the hard disk drive.

disk drive should I purchase to make the DVR run?
A.
Any PC compatible IDE, ATA hard
disk drive will work.

No. You have to buy each

A.
Up to a year with two 120 GB

A. Please stop record or play before
you access these menu.

Q. Why cannot I
access Network Set menu?
A. Please stop the connection of the
PC View soft from Internet before you access Network Set menu.

Q. I push record
button, but the DVR does not start recording, why?
A. Push display button to see if
there is a hard disk detected, also if the DVR is in schedule mode
(there is a “S” on the screen in yellow), you cannot start recording by
push record button, you have to push schedule button again to cancel
schedule mode.

Q. I push stop
button, but the DVR does not stop recording, why?
A. If the DVR is recording in
schedule mode (there is a “S” on screen), you cannot stop recording
unless you quit schedule mode first. Push schedule button to cancel
schedule mode.

Q. There is a
movement, but the DVR does not start recording.
A. Make sure the motion enable of
that channel is on, the area set is ok, the A/M rec time is not set to
off, that time of schedule is set to “A”, and the DVR is in schedule
mode. Otherwise set the motion level to HIGH or VERY HIGH.

Q.
The Screen keep rolling
down, how to fix it ?
A. For some reason the
video format has been changed to PAL from NTSC. What you need to do
Reset the setting back to factory setting. To do so: Hit MENU and enter
password :0000. Once in the Menu, hit ENTER to enter System Setup. Then
hit down arrow 4 times. Hit Enter. Hit Left arrow 1 times then hit
ENTER. System will reset now and it should back to normal screen.
